Josephine Gunton

Hi all, my name’s Josephine, and I’m a current fourth year, hoping to be the Paediatrics treasurer for next year. Paeds has always been a speciality interest of mine ever since a young age, before university I volunteered at a nursery for children from disadvantaged backgrounds and mentored young people through school and mental health struggles. I have been a big member of ICSM Light Opera, having been social sec, treasurer and 24 director, which has been quite intense, so haven’t ventured into academics much, but was hoping to get involved with paeds this year. I think I would be an asset to the paeds committee due to my year spent as Light Opera treasurer, I have a strong handle on finances, working with ICU and eactivities. I have budgeted for many small- and large-scale events, completed complicated annual budgeting and facilitated a variety (if not all) of the payment methods, so can competently manage all financial issues. As a previous social sec, I also understand the full organisation involved in events so will be a supportive and knowledgeable member of the paeds committee. From speaking to a previous paediatrics treasurer I confidently feel I have the skills and knowledge necessary to undertake this role and I promise I am a smiley-faced, enthusiastic person who will throw herself into every job.
