General Practice (ICSM): Vice Chair

Hi!

I am Mahir, a third-year student who recently completed a transformative GP placement. Recognizing the pivotal role of general practice in healthcare, my experiences have ignited a profound passion for this field, compelling me to seek the position of Vice Chair for GPsoc.

With a solid foundation in teaching, derived from my roles in CPA tutoring and guiding younger students in history taking, I aim to continue and expand the educational OSCE history series offered by GPsoc. Additionally, my plan includes creating fresh educational content tailored for younger students in order to help them make the most of their placements.

I propose the continuation of placement talks for third-year students and the introduction of Q&A sessions. These platforms will provide opportunities for students on GP placements to share their insights, challenges, and experiences, fostering a supportive learning community.

To amplify GPsoc's impact, I intend to enhance its social media presence. By engaging with general practitioners, we can ensure the delivery of high-quality content to students. Collaborations with other societies will further boost awareness and expand our reach, establishing GPsoc as a vital medical society.

I am confident that, as Vice Chair, I can make a positive and lasting contribution to both students and practitioners.

Thank you for considering me for this position!
