Camila Goncalves Leon

Hello biochemists! My name is Camila and I will be running for Academics Event Officer for next year. I want to create a pressure-free, learning environment that is more engaging for students across all years.

My goals:

• Work along the rest of the committee to involve more of Imperial’s academics into the society’s events. Hopefully have them come and present interesting research that is innovative and interesting to us all.
• Promote a more accessible contact network between students and professors.
• Get to know and work along Imperial’s staff to organize events where we can learn without having the pressure to produce coursework or obtain certain marks
• Take your feedback and listen to the topics that are most interesting to you and work hard to find researchers and academics that match those interests.

I would love to also collaborate with other departments to also bring a together other science students and Imperial’s professors/academics so that we can have a wide network of knowledge at our fingertips!

Why me?

• I am an easy-to-talk to individual, I would gladly listen to anybody’s interest and do my best to bring in interesting academics events.
• I would love to work with Imperial’s academics to find interesting topics that would captivate your interest.
• I am always open to your ideas and want to make your voice a priority!
