Chemical Engineering: Vice Chair

Hi everyone!

I’m Katy, a second-year student, currently your First Year Coordinator of ChemEngSoc. You’ve probably also seen me as a Brewmaster, organising the fortnightly beer brewing sessions that take place in the ChemEng Kitchen. I’ve also helped the IR team organise career and networking events, collaborating with other departments. The experience I’ve gained planning events and talking to external companies has prepared me for the responsibilities of Vice Chair.

My goals as Vice Chair include:

  1. Ensuring that the ChemEng BOAT PARTY actually happens
  2. Collaborating with ETH to provide another affordable trip to Zurich!
  3. Organising career events with more sustainable and environmentally friendly companies
  4. Increasing sponsorship to reduce the costs of our events
  5. Improve company partnerships to provide career development opportunities
  6. Introducing more workshops to enhance skills and prepare for CV writing and interviews
  7. Hosting more alumni events and expanding the Small Medium Enterprise spotlight to learn about their experience after graduation and future career opportunities

I will listen to all our members so ChemEngSoc can provide what YOU would like to see.

We all know how stressful the deadlines and exams can be so I’ll strive to organise fun events so we can have some well-deserved breaks!

I want to keep ChemEngSoc as the best departmental society at Imperial (I promise I’m not biased haha)!

If you have any questions feel free to say hi and have a chat! Since the study rooms have become my second home, you know where to find me.

Thank you 😊
