Ophthalmology: Chair

Hello! We’re Michael and Rishi, two third-year medical students, who would love to be your ophthalmology chairs next year!

If we became chairs, we’d be committed to provide these opportunities:

  • Hold workshops on mastering the ophthalmology portfolio and securing a training pathway position
  • Provide educational tutorials for course-specific ophthalmology topics at Imperial
  • Provide comprehensive resources for the Duke Elder Examination
  • Increased accessibility for entry to research in ophthalmology

We’re both keen to pursue ophthalmology, having placement experience and connections at multiple hospital sites across London, such as the Western Eye Hospital, London Eye Clinic and Moorfields. We are also conducting a Cochrane systematic review in ophthalmology and are well-versed to provide opportunities to connect with leading ophthalmologists.

We have plenty of leadership skills at a high level; Michael has led the organisation of an RCSed accredited conference nationally as well as weekly teaching sessions with leading surgeons of their field. Rishi is the acting National Policy Lead for UAEM UK and organised collaboration with the London WHO to hold a conference at Imperial.

We would really appreciate if you would vote us for chairs at ophthalmology society! If you have any questions, please email us at rm921@ic.ac.uk or ms2521@ic.ac.uk
