Shaurya Kashyap
Trauma 2023 demonstrated the potential of the conference's presence on a global stage. I would like to further encourage participation of international speakers to solidfy our worldwide standing.
With my experience as President of Hindu Society, I have the full skillset in hosting events >£10ks alongside fluency in union operations and administration (Event Proposals, Budgeting and POs, RAs + more). I am comprehensive in all aspects of hosting, having led a conference of ~100 delegates as Conference Co-Chair for CardioSoc. As BIMA Conference Chair, I am executing a 2nd conference with ~200 expected delegates, 4 world-renowned speakers and 6 workshops this term. During preparation for this, I established rapport with the CEO of a renowned medical VR company. I hope to capitalize on this and many more connections in my involvment with SurgSoc.
I would like to fine-tune logistical aspects of Trauma, such as smoother movement between stations for ease of non-Imperial delegates in finding their workshops which would improve QOL. I want to explore the usage of SAF MDLs to increase the number of delegates and scope of the conference. I will minimize ticket prices by expanding our sponsorship network, including contacts at GMC, Elsevier (Osmosis) and GeekyMedics. With my connections at Medmeat I will reduce costs for the conference, thus reducing the ticket price. I will enhance marketing with the conception of a TikTok account and explore the inclusion of new workshops and essay competitions in Trauma.
I look forward to meeting you and building our SurgSoc family!
