Sailing: Social Secretary

Bon soir, it’s yours truly, and I’m running to be your social secretary for next year. From me you can expect a busy and vibrant (sometimes messy) social calendar filled with exciting and fulfilling activities with likeminded individuals.

On the whole, I would look to build on and maintain the excellent organisation of our socials this year by Matt and Imogen.

From me, you can expect impeccable vibes and organisation of all the staple sailing socials from Freshers curry and 'Welcome drinks' to the Icicle weekend.

But you should also expect some new wholesome socials for greater off the water bonding including a much anticipated “sailing weekend away without the sailing” think Brunch’s, country pubs, laser tag, go karting and no 7:30am wake up.

I would also look to integrate Freshers into the club at an earlier stage to Freshers curry by organising a club night to follow up from the taster session BBQ/ tryouts, as this will help aid our fresher retention, rebuild our social sailor network and make the freshers curry a more welcoming environment for our new sailors to be brought into.

But of course.. it being me, some much missed rowdy slug nights and Pres will also hold a firm place in any social calendar organised by myself for next year, as well as pub golf and various other side quests for the more adventurous sailor.
