Omer Emir Serak
Merhaba Arkadaşlar! I am Omer, a 3rd year Molecular Bioengineering student. You might know me as your Social Secretary this year. Being part of the Turkish society and helping shape your time in Imperial has been very dear to me.
Having played an essential role in bringing you a range of academic, social and collaborative events, never before seen in the history of Turkish Society, I have witnessed that the respect and recognition shown towards the Turkish community and Turkish society by Imperial has increased exponentially. This was one of my promises when applying for social secretary, and it has been a delight to see it come to fruition. Of course it is not enough, and I hope that, with the gift of your vote, I can help carry the Turkish society and your student lives to the next level as your Treasurer, next year.
My goal is to use the skills I gained in civic engagement in EU-funded projects, conflict resolution training, and organising large-scale international conferences to solve the collective problems of Turkish students and engage the Turkish Community of Imperial, in addition to aiding my fellow committee members and creating a collaborative working environment in order to provide the best student experience possible to you. And definitely making sure that society finances are strong enough to bring you more amazing events more quickly (as your Treasurer).
