Hello everyone!!

I'm Mila, a third year Civil Engineering student. I'm very excited to run for Chair of CivSoc for 2024/25! This year, I've been President of the Spanish Society here at Imperial and I've really enjoyed organising the committee and getting to plan events. I'd love to apply the experience that I've gained to help improve such an amazing society as CivSoc is! It's really important for us to not only get to know each other and get some time to relax and have fun with our peers, but also have easy access to career fairs, networking and industry talks that help us decide our future and take some of the pressure of finding everything by ourselves.

I've always been very involved in the department. Being Academic Rep for three years, I've gained a lot of experience providing support to colleagues and staff and addressing issues. This has also allowed me to meet other reps and know about their years' experience. CivSoc is another way of representing us and I will make sure our voices are heard!

I've always really appreciated CivSoc, as it has contributed greatly to my experience at uni: from the renowned Pub Crawl (the best at Imperial), where I have met amazing people; to the yearly careers fair, where I found my internship of last summer. I'm thankful for all the opportunities and I'd love to be part of continuing to provide these to everyone in the department!
