Rakesh Bhaskaran

Hi!

I'm Rakesh, 2nd year medical student and I am running for ICSM Badminton president.

Having been part of badminton since pretty much the start of my Imperial journey, I have learned a lot about how the club works and the key skills needed to run a safe,fun and efficent society.

This year I have been Social Secretary and helped to organise and run social events for members to meet and enjoy, through this sort of collaboration and regularly going to the social sessions I have met and talked to a lot of the existing members, giving me insight into running one aspect of a club. I have identified that some major problems being the timings and dates of social sessions, which of course is ultimately up to the university, but I will attempt to have more accessible timings and/or dates.

As always my goals are to keep the club a fun and safe space for all members of the sport whether it's to just meet new people through the social events or play for an amazing team. I strive to keep badminton ICSM one of the most popular clubs at imperial and attract even more members in the coming year allowing the club to be evergrowing, perchance.
