Hi everyone!

I’m Senara and I would love to be your next Welfare Vice Chair for Campaigns. My experience as a member of RAG committee and Halfway Dinner fundraising officer has made me confident in planning and promoting events as well as meeting deadlines promptly. It has also involved me communicating and collaborating with fellow students and external groups.

My main aims for the role would be:

• More in person events – these would support the online campaigns, resulting in increased awareness for them. It would also provide more opportunities for students to reach out and get in touch with the Welfare Team about any problems.
• Collaboration - with societies, charities and faculty to promote campaigns and increase engagement.
• Facilitating more feedback channels - so people can suggest more campaigns they would like to see and raise any concerns.
• Improving signposting to existing resources – Imperial provides access to lots of useful resources, but it is not always clear how to use them. So, improving signposting will make these resources more accessible.
• Introducing new campaigns - including loneliness at university, cost of living and housing search support. I would implement these through a mix of online and in-person campaigns. For example, a series on affordable meal ideas and housing Q&A sessions as well as yoga and mindfulness sessions, ‘welfare walks’, film nights and coffee mornings.
