Hi, I'm Basit!
Welcome to my campaign for Student Trustee!
With extensive experience in student representation, I'm eager to run for Student Trustee in the upcoming election. I'm very passionate about addressing our Union's challenges over the next couple of years.
My campaign centers on three core principles:
- Efficiency: Guided by our new strategy, "Moving beyond basics," I'll streamline decision-making processes to better serve students. By simplifying bureaucracy, supporting our team, and setting clear goals, I aim to improve operations for all.
- Inclusivity: I'm dedicated to including and amplifying every student's voice, creating an inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated. Through continuous improvement, I aim to foster a welcoming community for all.
- Sustainability: Recognising the need to reduce our environmental impact, I'll embed sustainability into our operations. This involves setting goals and integrating sustainable practices into our activities.
In addition to these principles, I'll uphold the Nolan Principles as a Student Trustee. Prioritising openness, I'll ensure and foster transparency, integrity and open communication throughout my term.
