Emma Halford
RSMU: Vice President Education
Hi! I’m Emma, last year I was regalia officer and this year I am running for Vice President Education.
I have loved being on committee this year and being involved in making the RSM community what it is.
I am committed to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for every student based on the student body’s needs and concerns.
As your VPE I would:
- Work closely with the VP Welfare to provide support and advocate for the wellbeing of students.
- Communicate with students and faculty, especially during stressful times, to address concerns related to academic pressures, workload, and any other factors affecting the holistic well-being of the student community. I will actively seek feedback to ensure student voices are heard and considered in the relevant forums.
- Give students a voice regarding lectures, lecturers, course and module structure to make sure that students get what they want out of their university education.
- Relay all questions and complaints to the relevant people with the goal to improve the student experience for all.
- Encourage changes that benefit the student body and best reflect the feedback received.
- Represent the RSM’s educational needs, ensuring all students are represented equally.
- Promote inclusivity and diversity within the community.
- Create an environment where every student feels included and represented: I will actively work to address any instances of discrimination, bias, or exclusion.
- Improve availability of academic resources and support services and advocate for fair and reasonable accommodations for students with diverse learning needs.
RSM love,
Emma
