Hi everyone! I’m Aden, and I’m looking to be your ICSMSU Sites and Services Officer next year!
Throughout my 3 years at ICSM so far, I’ve been largely involved in the academics, helping teach tutorials with MedEd crash courses, volunteering at mock CPAs and PACES, and now I’m co-leading this year’s PassPOM crashcourse!
Next year, I’m excited to get more involved in the running of our medical union, and especially to get your voices heard! From initial feedback about what students would like from SSO next year, I’ve developed these goals:
- I’ll be looking into room bookings for SAF and Reynolds’, especially issues around time slots not being avaliable during Wednesday afternoons.
- Regarding Merch, I want ours to rival the reputation of the Business School’s merch! So far, the feedback I’ve heard is that you want an improved design for the quarter zips, plus more collectible merch, including an ICSM iron-on patch and more options for ICSM lanyards!
- Finally, I want to look into the maintenance of our sites - particularly focusing on the avaliability of lockers! I will look into implementing more changing rooms, standing desks, working sockets in SAF and other lecture theatres, and a hot water tap, similar to the Sir Ernst Chain Building!
But these are just what I’ve heard from students so far! Listening to you guys is my number one priority! I’ll be trying to survey and hear what YOU want SSO to do for you, and hopefully together, we can make your ideas real!
