Rosch Corea

Hi there, my name is Rosch and I'm a second year Medical student.

A society is only as strong as its reach. My aim as VP Marketing would be to make sure every student who might be interested in psychiatry knows what PsychSoc offers. As Secretary of Sri Lankan Society, I was the link between our committee, our members and our sponsors. That taught me how much clear, timely communication matters, and how to build relationships with external partners.

I'd use that experience to strengthen PsychSoc's sponsor and partner relationships and give the society a consistent, recognisable identity. I'd also support the President in running the society and represent them at meetings and events when needed. My interest in psychiatry is genuine. It was sparked by my own experience of ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia and was deepened when I conducted my own extra reading. From books such as Shrinks: Untold story of Psychiatry, I learned of its dynamic, ever changing identity and its continous strive to clear misconceptions. As VP Marketing, I would want to ensure that I can ignite this same spark in fellow students and bring more awareness to this fascinating speciality.
