Vera Khokhlova

Hi everyone! I’m Vera, a first-year EFDS student, and I’m thrilled to run as your next Treasurer for the Imperial Russian Speaking Society!
Since I am studying at Imperial College Business School, you can definitely see that financials are practically my second language. I want to put these skills to work to ensure the society’s finances are flawlessly organised and fully optimised to bring us the best events possible this year.
In my boarding schools, I managed several large-scale events, always being in charge of budgeting. For instance, last year I organized a TEDxYouth Conference in Oxford with over 150 guests, covering all financial logistics and sponsorships. Before this, for 2 years in a row, I was the Head Manager of a 1,500-person event with a budget of more than £1,000, ensuring it was managed transparently and in the most efficient way.
While I am new to Imperial, I have heard from my friends here about how much everyone loves our traditional social gatherings and cultural events. As your Treasurer, I plan to do my best to ensure transparent budgeting and secure external corporate sponsorships. This will allow us to fund even more unforgettable gatherings!
