Agape Magona

Hi! My name is Agape and I'm a second year medical student. I was a previous member of the U16 Richmond Knights basketball team. I'm running for 1st team captain of ICSM basketball, not just because I want to push players for improvement and to compete with confidence, but I also want to bring enjoyment playing as a group. Basketball has been a huge part of my life growing up, and it has helped me to learn new skills, make new friends, and become a better team player in general. I'm putting myself up for this role so I can encourage people to build chemistry and enjoy playing with one another. I’ll do my best to bring energy and consistency to training and games, hold myself accountable, and encourage everyone to maintain high standards. I also want to make sure that everyone feels comfortable speaking up, sharing ideas, and contributing to the team.

If elected, I want to create an environment where everyone feels valued, motivated, and willing to push themselves and each other to improve. Whether we’re winning comfortably or fighting through a difficult game, I want us to stay together, trust each other, and keep working until the final whistle. I am not claiming to be the perfect captain, but I am ready to work hard, take responsibility, and give my best for the team. If given the opportunity, I will help us move forward together.
