Hey! My name is Valentina and I'm standing to be your BTV Y1 Academic Representative.

How many times have we heard our professors say "we're new to Canvas too, so bear with us..."? Canvas may be new, but that does not mean we have to sit quietly when facing obstacles. Your educational concerns, such as Canvas troubleshooting, deserve to be attended to and acted upon.

With experience as executive of two community-based societies in high school (both volunteer work for underprivileged children), as well as captain of my HS Volleyball team, I know what it takes to lead.

But, I'm not here to be your leader, I'm here to listen to you.

I'm sure we have all experienced at least one "What's BTV?" or "Oh, is that a new course?". But with me as your academic rep, I guarantee that our voices will be heard. Because our programme is relatively new, this is the perfect time for us to advocate for ourselves. We have the power to make a change.

My vision for BTV begins with communication, which is the vital bridge between students and academics. I want to ensure that we are provided with the best experience possible. I am always open to hearing feedback that the educational board will be made aware of.
