Design Engineering (UG): Year One Wellbeing Representative

Starting university means figuring out lots of brand new things at once, projects, campus, people, and a whole city (for some of us). It's exciting, but can also be overwhelming. And sometimes, what we need most isn't someone with all the answers, but someone who's willing to listen.

In my high school, Ulink College of Shanghai, I served as Student Union President, led 2 student clubs, and completed 1,008 hours of community service over four years. Before starting at Imperial, I returned to my high school as its first and only Student Affairs Officer intern, helping with student affairs and gaining insight into how schools handle student concerns.

Like every other fresher, I'm still exploring Imperial, finding my way in a new environment and getting to know people here. But I hope to bring the experience I've gained in handling conflicts, gathering feedback, and turning concerns into action to our DE family.

Over my four years in high school, I learned something important, “For a long time, I thought I had to become capable before taking on something important. But life usually works the other way around. We begin first, then we slowly become capable.” [2026 UCS Graduation Speech by Henry]

I'm new here, and I certainly don't have all the answers yet, but I’m not new to taking responsibility. Give me a chance and some time, I'll adapt, engage, and dedicate myself to become the best-est Wellbeing Representative I can be.

Got Problems? Let Henry Hoover It!
