Hi, I'm Fede.
Quick question. Who would you actually tell?
Not your mum, she'd worry. Not your flatmate, you've known them three weeks. Not your lecturer, they're still learning your name. So you'd probably just tell no one and push through, because that's what Imperial students do.
That's the gap a Wellbeing Rep is meant to fill, and it's why I'm running.
I'm in the same lectures as you, wearing the same stained gloves, having the same 2 am "is it just me?" moments. It isn't just you. And you're working harder than anyone notices, so let me be the one to say it: you're doing better than you think. (Yes, even with the blank pages in your lab book.)
Here's what I'll do:
• Be someone you can talk to. An anonymous check-in each term, and I'll be around in person, because some things are easier to say out loud than type into a survey.
• Make help easy to find before you need it. One simple guide to mental health, money, and safety support, from your PT to Student Services, shared all year, not just in freshers.
• Flag deadline pile-ups. Three big deadlines in one week? I'll take it to the department, so nobody's choosing between their grades and their sleep.
• Bring people together. Free, low-pressure meetups for anyone still finding their people.
I can't fix everything. But next time something's weighing on you, you'll have an answer to that first question.
