Hi! I'm Eric(Zuowei) Zhang, your first year classmate.
I’m really excited to stand as your Year 1 Academic Representative for Design Engineering in the Dyson School.
Our course sits right at the crossroads of creative design, core engineering and practical making. Starting this degree alongside all of you, I’ve already seen first‑hand how tricky it can be balancing studio work, theory and workshop time while settling into Imperial’s fast pace.
If you vote for me, these are my three clear priorities.
First, I will collect consistent feedback from our cohort and raise our concerns directly with module leads to improve lectures, studio organisation and workshop access.
Second, I will help build up a supportive peer community within our year, so we can share project knowledge and resources, and make sure no one gets left behind in this crucial first year.
Third, I will push for clearer assessment guidance and more predictable workloads to cut unnecessary stress and confusion.
I will keep our communication two‑way. After every meeting with the department, I will come back and update you on what progress has or hasn’t been made.
I won’t just pass messages on. I will turn what our year group says into real, practical changes for all of us.
