Sophie Yu

Electrical & Electronic Engineering (UG): Year One Academic Representative

Hi everyone! I’m Sophie Yu and I’m running for your academic rep this year. I’m from China and New Zealand, and I’m fluent in both English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese).

I will be your voice. I will listen to you, and I will actively seek your feedback on academic-related issues such as coursework, deadlines, assessments, feedback and learning resources. I will make sure your concerns are heard by staff members and other student representatives, and I will push for changes to improve our learning experience.

Why vote for me?

I am approachable, empathetic, and patient. If you are shy, I will make sure you feel comfortable talking to me, and I can raise your concerns anonymously depending on your wishes. I am a good listener, and I never judge.

Let’s make our cohort the best year group in the history of EEE!
