Kristian Sarai

Hello everyone!! I’m Kristian, also known as the ‘transport guy’ – because if you don’t recognise my name, you will almost certainly recognise my transport-themed clothing :)

Even in our first year at Imperial, the Mech Eng department demonstrated its commitment to listening to our concerns, and Year Reps have proven to be crucial in understanding and communicating those concerns. As your Academic Year Rep, I’d aim to make this communication seamless and consistent. I’m always on campus, always happy to listen and have a conversation. I’ve strived to communicate face-to-face with as many of you as possible already, and I look forward to meeting even more of you.

I’d also like to provide easier access to relevant course-related updates, whether that be responses to our feedback or general department information. I would provide these updates consistently and promptly via WhatsApp, just like in the last couple of months. I would improve the tutorial sheet schedule and update it as per advice in lectures, working alongside the wonderful Krish, who is now a Departmental Academic Rep.

However, perhaps the most fundamental improvement in our learning experience I can offer is homemade cake courtesy of my ‘birthday spreadsheet’ initiative – because what’s not to love about more recognition of your special day?

If this sounds appealing, your vote can make it a reality; and if not, I’d love your input on how I could make it better. Because Mechanical Engineers at Imperial have a voice, and a powerful one at that.
