A bit about me:
Hi, I’m Mehru! I’m from Monifieth, Scotland and my Biology horror story is that I panicked when I saw/ met Katalin Kariko and ran away.
Why me?
- Involved in/ ran societies ranging from Eco-club, MUN, Latin club; developed a variety of skills; I have become rather good at stress-management and using Excel at every given opportunity for organisation.
- School captain (2025 – 2026); managed more than 60 prefects; acted as a bridge between the student body and the senior management; raised concerns ranging from pupil wellbeing, to providing prefects with coffee at school events; and always sent out a Microsoft Form before planning an event to take pupil voice into account!
- I enjoy a good yap; can talk to pretty much anyone; and will try my absolute best to solve any problems you might have.
Aims and Objectives:
- As a fresher, it might be daunting to raise concerns; I hope to empower my fellow first years and foster positive relationships between everyone in the department.
- Stress is a part of Imperial; help anyone who might be struggling – through simply listening or helping them find appropriate support.
- Initiate more (and regular) student feedback; it doesn’t matter how silly!
- Ensure action is taken promptly regarding issues with assignments, exams or anything academic.
- Taking initiative for first years to mingle with second, third and even postgraduate students, who first years may not speak to otherwise – it can be immensely useful to start networking early in your degree.
