Listen. Represent. Follow Up.
Beginning with our eventful Welcome Week, we have begun an exciting new chapter at Imperial. However, transitioning to university-level study can be challenging: the pace, independent learning and unfamiliar academic systems can feel overwhelming and difficult to navigate.
As a first-year Biology student experiencing this transition alongside you, I want to ensure our questions, experiences and ideas are heard and represented within the department.
Listen — Make every voice count
I want to make it easier and more approachable for students to raise questions, share ideas and flag concerns in a comfortable environment. By actively listening to individual experiences and identifying recurring themes, I will build a clearer picture of what matters the most to our cohort.
Represent — Turn feedback into action
From daily timetables to assessments and academic support, clear communication matters. I will bring significant or recurring concerns to the appropriate staff, representing different perspectives fairly and constructively.
Follow up — Close the feedback loop
Representation should not end when feedback is submitted. I will aim to keep students informed about responses and next steps, help to make this process more transparent and keeping you all involved in this feedback loop!
Students → Representative → Department → Students
I hope to be a representative you always feel comfortable approaching with any questions. I will strive to be active and responsive throughout our feedback loop, taking students' concerns seriously and doing my best to ensure all voices are heard.
Thank you!
