Alina Li
My name is Alina Li, and I would be honoured to serve as Finance Vice President – Co-head of Global Markets.
As a Chemistry student at Imperial and an incoming FICC and Equities Summer Analyst at Goldman Sachs, with prior experience across hedge funds, asset management and sales & trading, I understand what top firms look for and how to help members prepare. Having personally gone through Spring Weeks, trading interviews, market discussions and internship applications, I know how confusing Global Markets can feel from the outside, especially for students without direct industry exposure.
If elected, I would focus on making Global Markets more practical, accessible and outcomes-driven through three initiatives:
1. Weekly Markets Briefing
A concise digest covering key moves in rates, FX, commodities, credit and equities, with simple explanations of why they matter for interviews and trading discussions.
2. Trading Interview & Market Pitch Bootcamp
Workshops on trade ideas, market-making, brainteasers, macro news discussion and technical interview questions to help members prepare for Spring Weeks, internships and assessment centres.
3. Global Markets Speaker Series
Invite alumni and professionals across sales, trading, structuring and research to explain what different desks actually do, helping members make more informed career choices.
My goal is to make the Global Markets division more useful, interactive and supportive for students from all backgrounds.
Vote for me to help build a more practical and connected Global Markets community.
