Hello everyone,

My name is Melis, and I am a second-year Chemical Engineering student. Over the past year, serving as Finance Associate at ICFS has strengthened my passion for finance and commitment to this society. I am excited to announce my candidacy for Social Secretary.

During my time as Finance Associate, I have seen how ICFS brings students together through speaker sessions, networking events, workshops, and socials that make finance more accessible and engaging. Being part of a society that connects people with shared ambitions has shown me the importance of community alongside professional development. These experiences have given me a strong understanding of what our members value, and I would love to help create a more welcoming, connected environment.

If elected, I aim to:

• Improve event communication: Create a weekly updated ICFS calendar with upcoming socials, deadlines, and opportunities in a clear, easy-to-follow format, while introducing regular events such as welcome drinks, post-event socials, themed nights, dinners, and end-of-term celebrations.
• Strengthen collaboration with other societies: Organise joint socials with Consulting, Investment, Women in Business, and STEM-related societies to help members expand their networks and meet students with similar academic and career interests.
• Make networking more relaxed and accessible: Host informal networking evenings, alumni mixers, and sponsor socials where members can build meaningful connections in a comfortable setting.

With my previous experience organising and publicising events, I hope to bring communication, creativity, and consistency to this role. I would be truly honoured to have your support.
