Simran Kainth

Hi I’m Simran and I’m a 3rd year medical student - I’ve been involved with Paediatrics through Play Team as the Volunteer Coordinator this year. I’ve also volunteered for the past 3 years through Imperial’s Teddy Bear Hospital and the past 2 through Play Team. I’d love to get involved with Community and Outreach as you get to work with students interested in Medicine and offer support .

My major ideas would be to:

-> pick schools that would benefit from support most - in previous years schools we visited have already had a lot of support so I would want to target schools without as many connections

-> consider returning to schools after a few months due to the changing needs of a medical applicant throughout the year ( helping with UCAT in the summer term for year 12s and helping with interview prep in the autumn for year 13s)

-> advertise the opportunity better to students in our medical school to get involved and have a certificate system for attendees
