Muslim Medics: Medical Outreach Officer

I’d like to be part of Muslim Medics because I’ve already been involved and I’ve genuinely enjoyed it. I’ve helped out at a number of PotMed events as well as with organising the Muslim Medics Annual Dinner, and that experience has made me realise how much I enjoy being part of these kinds of projects.

I’m particularly interested in the Outreach Officer role because I like what it represents and I enjoy organising things that bring people together in a meaningful way. I think the most effective events are the ones that feel welcoming and purposeful, and I’d like to contribute to creating more of those. I’d also be keen to bring in new ideas and a bit of creativity where possible, so outreach continues to feel fresh and engaging.

Being the sisters’ event lead for ISOC Charity Week gave me experience in planning and running events from start to finish. Alongside that, I’ve been involved in health and wellbeing events, weekly food banks, and other community initiatives at my local mosque. These experiences have helped me become more confident in working with different groups of people and strengthened my ability to work well within a team to make sure things run smoothly.

Overall, I think it would be a really rewarding role, and something I’d genuinely enjoy being part of. I’d like to help make sure outreach and events feel thoughtful, well-organised, and actually valuable to the people attending them.
