Madhulika Mandavilli
Welcome to anyone interested in botany!
I am Madhulika Mandavilli, a second-year in Biological Sciences and Environmental society's Campaign Manager next year.
As a Gatsby Plant Science Champion this year, I have organsied 3 botanical walks with the society where we joined the London Natural History Society and the Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland and we are still planning 2 more where we hunt for a list of lost species in the square assigned to us - TQ27. Botany has many facets and while I most enjoy the diversity of plants existing in the natural outdoors, I recognise the importance of growing them especially from my engagement with Esoc's garden.
I aim to assist the next year commitee while also bringing the following ideas to life:
1. Keep up the Outdoor walks in conjunction with the LNHS and the BSBI and the carry forward our hunt for lost plants to contribute to their LORE project.
2. Organise a variety workshops both indoors and outdoors for plant ID (maybe something to do with biochemistry), gardening and horticulture.
I am no good at keeping things alive but I look foward to changing that this year :)
