Darshan Sakthivel

Imperial Tamil Society has played an important role in creating a sense of community for Tamil students at Imperial, and I would be excited to contribute to that as Head of Events.

What attracts me most to this role is the opportunity to bring people together. Starting university can be overwhelming, especially for freshers, and I want to help create an environment where everyone feels welcomed, included and part of the TSoc family from day one. Through organised socials, creative events and strong engagement throughout, I want to ensure members feel connected to both the society and one another.

I believe I am well suited to this role because of my experience working with a wide range of people through volunteering and leadership positions. I have strong experience organising Tamil events through my Tamil school, which has taught me how to communicate effectively, stay organised and work collaboratively within teams.

As Head of Events, I would be committed to delivering memorable events throughout the year, from Freshers' events to larger events such as the MM Ball, while also contributing new ideas. I am enthusiastic about taking ownership of logistics, liaising with venues and external companies, helping maximise ticket sales and ensuring every event runs smoothly.

Most importantly, I would bring energy, commitment and fresh ideas to the role. I want every member of TSoc to feel proud to be part of the society and look back on the year having made unforgettable memories through the events we create together.
