Being on subcommittee this year showed me how much work goes on behind the scenes to keep the society running smoothly. A lot of that depends on communication being clear and timely, and I think that is somewhere I can genuinely add value.

One area I feel we could improve is how information flows between the committee and the wider membership. Sometimes updates and event details reach members quite late, and I think clearer internal communication and more consistent newsletters would help members feel more connected and engaged with what the society is doing throughout the year.

As Secretary I would make sure meetings are well organised, minutes are clear and actually useful, and that nothing gets lost between the committee and the Union. Those things sound simple but they make a real difference to how everything runs.

The Tamil Society means a lot to me and taking on Secretary would be a way to contribute in a more meaningful and consistent way than I have been able to as subcommittee.
