when i first joined icmc the socials were how I actually found my climbing friends and felt at home in the club and i want to guarantee the exact same welcoming, inclusive energy for everyone joining next year.
i take event planning very seriously (even if I don't take myself too seriously). especially under the guidance (and fear of disappointing) our future prez and ex-social sec💪.
the classics (they're staying):
- wonce: the undisputed highlight of this year is 100% returning
- roped pub crawls: nothing builds trust like being tied to your mates after 3 pints
- boozy bowling: gutter balls, pitchers and immaculate vibes
new ideas im bringing:
- inter-uni sports day: crossing ropes with other universities to see which is actually the best mountaineering society (icmc obvs)
- film & isfc viewings: more casual and chill socials to balance things out
- climbing the shard (?)
- oh and most importantly catboys as the theme for 2026 halloween pub crawl😈
most importantly this is YOUR🫵 club. have a brilliant (or completely unhinged) idea for a social? pitch it to me and i'll do my absolute best to make it happen.
