Prarthana Vinoth

I genuinely LOVE Music Society, and it’s been one of the best parts of uni for me. From rehearsals to socials, it’s such a welcoming and supportive community, and I’d love to help make sure every new member feels that same sense of belonging I did.

Being publicity officer this past year has taught me a lot about how the society runs and what goes into making events successful. It’s helped me develop strong organisational, time-management and creative skills, often working on lots of tasks with quick turnaround times. I’d love to use these skills to create fun and memorable socials for everyone.

If elected, I’d aim to:

• Introduce memorable fresher initiations - appealing to both drinkers & non-drinkers

• Help freshers settle in quickly and feel genuinely welcomed.

• Encourage more interaction between year groups and ensembles.

• Keep socials affordable and accessible so as many people as possible can attend.

Most importantly, I want to maintain the friendly atmosphere that makes music society so special. Joining can feel intimidating at first, but I felt welcomed immediately, and I’d love to help create that experience for others too.
