Luke Barraclough

Hi everyone, I’m Luke, and if you don’t know me, go to more socials! (Yes, I was slacking off halfway through my exams for society concert and afters).

As a fresher, and especially as a non-medic, I have felt incredibly welcome in this society. I would love to be one of your Social Secs next year to continue the fun vibes and to develop this overwhelmingly inclusive and welcoming atmosphere, helping the next generation of freshers to feel as at home as I have.

Why do I think I am suitable for this role? Have you been to a social (this year) (not a choir or bands one) that I wasn’t there for? I am proud to be one of the most social freshers in the society – not to blow my own trumpet hehe. I believe I am a very organised person with excellent planning and time management skills, and you should vote for me :)

In terms of changes I would make, I would love to get the whole society together more often and be a more cohesive community. This would include encouraging concert attendance by members of the other ensembles. Another idea I had was to introduce an ongoing game of TAG where an item is given to a target without them noticing, and they must then pass it on (a bit like the bottle tops at fresher’s curry)
