Shehzeen Alam

Hi everyone, my name is Shehzeen Alam and I am running to be your next Publicity Officer for Pakistan Society.

I think Pakistan Society has the potential to be more than just a society. It can be a place where students feel connected to home, culture and community, while also sharing Pakistani identity with the wider university. As Publicity Officer, I want to make our events feel exciting, welcoming and impossible to miss.

My first aim is to create clear, consistent and engaging publicity across Instagram, WhatsApp and other platforms. I would make sure every event is promoted early, with eye-catching graphics, clear information and reminders so people know exactly what is happening and why they should come.

My second aim is to make our content more personal. I want to spotlight committee members, freshers, cultural celebrations, food, music, fashion and student experiences so our page reflects the real people who make PakSoc special.

My third aim is to increase engagement beyond just event posters. I would introduce interactive stories, polls, countdowns, reels and behind-the-scenes content to build excitement before and after events. This would help PakSoc feel active throughout the year, not only during big events.

I am creative, organised and genuinely passionate about celebrating Pakistani culture. I would bring energy, consistency and care to this role, making sure PakSoc’s publicity represents the warmth, colour and community that define us.
