Badminton: Chairperson

Hello, I’m Reno, a 4th yr medic, and I am running to be your president next year.

I started playing regularly at Uni and instantly became obsessed and so you’ve probably seen me at virtually every social session.

I’ve been on this committee for longer than I can remember, seeing how the club runs from every possible angle:

  • 1st Year: Social Manager

  • 2nd Year: Treasurer

  • 3rd Year: Secretary

  • 4th Year: Mixed 2s & 3s Captain (+ Introducing and managing the eBadders website)

My Priorities for Next Year

  1. SHUTTLES - I will be VERY generous with the shuttle quantities, this is easily one of the top quality improvement in badminton sessions. I will also enforce a proper shuttle triage system to ensure the warmup shuttle chaos in the box is sorted.
  2. IC TOURNEY - IC Tourney has been great fun every time I’ve gone over the past three years, and I’m bringing it back. Having helped organise the previous two, booking the courts and running the events on the day, I know what it takes to make it happen.

How dedicated am I?

  • Project report due tomorrow? I’ll see you at badminton and pull an all-nighter afterward.

  • Right wrist injured for 6 months? No problem, I’ll play with my left hand.

Overall, I know the social side, I know the competitive side, I know the admin, which is why I will be a good president.
