Anhad Wasson

My name is Anhad Singh and I'm running for President to make Imperial Sikh Society more welcoming, ambitious and impactful.

My vision is to build a stronger Sangat at Imperial, guided by Miri and Piri: supporting students to excel academically and professionally while deepening their connection to Sikhi, seva and each other.

If elected, I will deliver a clearer, more consistent events calendar: regular socials, speaker nights and collaborations across faith, culture, careers, research and entrepreneurship.

I also want Sikh Soc to become a real platform for opportunity and seva. I am actively planning three major initiatives:

1. An Academic and Research Opportunities Initiative, helping students access Laidlaw-style scholarships, research placements and projects that can have you paid a stipend and travel to go and serve Punjab, the Sikh community and wider society.
2. The world’s FIRST Student Sikh Founders Pipeline, connecting Imperial students with world-class Sikh founders, investors and high-level mentors through workshops on core entrepreneurial principles, curated networking events and a flagship pitch night with other leading Sikh societies.
3. An Educational Seva Pipeline, supporting underprivileged Sikh students in the UK through mentorship and tutoring from Imperial, and potentially Oxbridge, students.

Finally, I will improve organisation: clearer communication, stronger committee accountability, better planning and more polished events.

My aim is to grow Sikh Soc not just in numbers, but in purpose, confidence and presence at Imperial, so it becomes a society that helps you feel rooted and ready to fulfil your potential.
