MathSoc seriously needs more sponsor connect. As the sponsor liaison, here’s how I plan to do this:

• Bring in more sponsors (obviously), but not just more quant firms! Math students have valuable skills to offer to several AI-research companies and small high-growth startups. By actively seeking out partnerships with these companies, I will look to attract a wider range of startups that may not even have considered working with MathSoc before!
• Make sponsors more active in MathSoc: Sponsors can mean more than just a desk at the once-a-term careers fair. They have employees with years of industry experience, often in niche areas of interest to students. By organizing more sponsor talks and technical workshop on useful industry skills, I would want to make sponsors truly be a part of the MathSoc community and help students benefit from their expertise (and allow students to get more free pizza!)

All of this requires being proactive and doing more than just maintaining current relations and carrying on with existing responsibilities. And I recognize that. Vote for me if you want to see more industry connect in MathSoc!
