Mathematics: Sponsor Liaison

MathSoc’s top-tier funding shouldn't just get us free merch: it should build a direct pipeline to the best career opportunities.

I’m Aayush, and I’m running for Sponsor Liaison.

Managing high-stakes sponsorships isn't new to me. In fact, I genuinely love the art of negotiation. Before Imperial, I founded an organisation that ran global summits for 500+ students, handling corporate sponsors and high-profile guests like India’s ex-Chief Justice, and coordinated directly with government agencies at COP28. This taught me to manage contracts, retain partners and pitch to new ones, and close deals by showing companies exactly why they need to invest in our talent. Between competing in hackathons and attending techfests, I’ve sat through enough generic lectures to know what makes a sponsor booth valuable, allowing me to translate corporate deals into what students actually want.

My Action Plan:

  • Expanding the Network: Aggressive summer outreach to retain our elite quant partners while building new contacts (high-growth hedge funds, AI labs, and tech giants) to secure exclusive networking sessions and internship opportunities.
  • High-Value Returns: Moving beyond generic talks. I’ll push for sponsor-led technical workshops, trading simulations, algorithmic challenges, mock-interviews, and opportunities that actually benefit your learning/personal projects (alongside the free merch and pizza, of course!)
  • Flawless Execution: Working tightly with the committee to ensure every workshop is perfectly scheduled and heavily attended, maximising sponsor ROI so they increase our funding year-over-year.

Let’s turn MathSoc’s funding into your next offer letter. Vote Aayush!
