Mathematics: Sponsor Liaison

So many firms sponsor our Maths Society, and I believe that as a society this can be used to give us a significant advantage over other universities.

If elected, I will constantly strive for sponsor engagement with Imperial students - through mock interviews, exclusive campus recruitment events and by creating a CV bank to expose talent to recruiters. I want to make it so there is a chance of a company reaching out to you having read your CV compared to you having to apply to them. I will also subsidise Trading Interview and JobTestPrep for Imperial students, because I believe access to interview prep should be standard.

I also want to organise more long-term events within the maths department like prediction contests or modelling competitions, and I believe that by developing our relations with sponsors we can allocate large cash prizes to the winners - as well as have loads of free food and free merch.
The variety of companies coming to Imperial is also an aspect I wish to change - many Imperial mathematicians become data scientists/analysts in the future, yet the involvement from data firms has been relatively low. Using existing connections in the data sector, I will bring in large companies as sponsors and recruiters to personally meet students.

Personal connection is my highest priority in this role - I want companies to know you as a person rather than as an application.

If elected, I will pursue this relentlessly and maximise your chances of being hired post-uni.
