Neurotechnology: Events Officer

Stimulate Ideas. Connect Neurons. Fire New Possibilities.

Hi! I’m Anya Gupta, a first-year Biomedical Engineering student running for Events Manager for the Neurotechnology Society.

Neurotechnology sits at the intersection of neuroscience, engineering, and technology, and it’s one of the most exciting fields to explore right now. From brain–computer interfaces to neural implants and AI in neuroscience, there are so many innovative developments happening. I want to help create events that make these ideas more accessible, engaging, and inspiring for students interested in the brain and emerging technologies.

My plans as Events Manager:

Explore Neurotech – organising talks and panels with researchers, startups, and industry professionals working in areas like brain–computer interfaces, neuroprosthetics, and neural AI so members can learn about emerging research and careers.

Hands-on workshops – introducing interactive sessions where members can explore concepts like neural signals, brain–machine interfaces, or neuro data to better understand how neurotechnology works in practice.

Cross-disciplinary events – collaborating with societies in AI, robotics, neuroscience, and engineering to host joint events that reflect how interdisciplinary neurotechnology truly is.

Neuro socials – hosting relaxed events like neuroscience-themed movie nights, coffee chats, and discussion meetups where members from different years can connect and share ideas.

Why me?

I’m outgoing and enjoy bringing people together. I’m also organised and good at planning and executing ideas while keeping deadlines in mind, and I’d love to create events that spark curiosity and strengthen the neurotech community.
