As a Biomedical Engineering student with a deep interest in neuroengineering, it would be an honour to help the Imperial Neurotech Society evolve while sharing my interest in the applications and innovations of this field with more people. I am eager to contribute my academic skills and knowledge, as well as my dedication and enthusiasm, to achieve this purpose.
In addition to the knowledge gained from my studies, I have taken part in seminars and workshops centred around neurotechnology, gaining practical skills beyond theory. I recently participated in the Neurotech Hackathon organised by this society, where my team and I used live EEG data to decode a person's interest in a short movie clip they were shown, and used AI to generate its continuation based on their engagement. While most other participants were more experienced than I was, I took that as an opportunity to learn from them and broaden my understanding of neurotechnology, reflecting my determination in unfamiliar situations.
Beyond technical skills, serving as Chair of the Student Council as well as House Captain in my sixth form placed me in charge of leading meetings and organising events, developing my ability to coordinate teams and ensure matters were dealt with efficiently. I am also comfortable in public speaking, as participating in several Model United Nations conferences taught me to communicate clearly and persuasively under pressure.
As Events Officer, I will use my skills to organise practical, educational, and engaging events reflecting neurotechnology's innovation, and further the society's meaningful impact.
