Heidi Chong

Hi there! My name is Heidi, and I’m a first-year Mechanical Engineering student looking to be your PR officer for Swim and Waterpolo. ICSWP has been a great platform for meeting friends, keeping fit and taking my mind off academics. I hope to share these moments with more students and introduce them to the fun we have here at ICSWP!

As PR Officer, I aim to:

• Humanise ICSWP
• Share member and committee interviews on how they joined and their favourite memories
• Create “day in the life” content (school + training, BUCS/LUSL meet days)
• Showcase both competitive and social sides to make the club less intimidating for beginners
• Increase collaboration and visibility
• Work with other clubs on joint posts and friendly challenges
• Liaise with other sports PR officers for cross-club collaborations
• Use Instagram’s “invite collaborators” feature to expand reach and engagement
• Build a stronger content strategy
• Develop a consistent posting schedule (e.g. 1-2 posts per week + regular stories)
• Introduce themed series e.g. Member Monday, Throwback Thursday, and Race Day Diaries
• Track engagement metrics (views, saves, shares, reach) to refine and improve content

With experience in Canva and social media marketing in previous roles, I believe I'm equipped with the necessary skillset for this role. I hope to showcase the energy, inclusivity, and appeal of ICSWP so more students feel confident in taking the first step to join!
