Artificial Intelligence (AI): Treasurer
Hi, we’re Vivaan (3rd Year MEng Computing in AI & ML) and Aryan (2nd Year MEng Computing in AI & ML). Alongside running for Co-Chairs, we’re also running to be your Treasurer of AISoc.
We believe financial leadership should be directly aligned with vision. If we are trusted to shape AISoc’s direction, we also want to ensure it is financially strong, sustainable, and professionally managed.
Both of us have previously led Google Developer Group (GDG) chapters, where we managed large-scale budgets and organised major hackathons with sponsorship funding exceeding £80,000+. We’ve handled substantial sums responsibly, negotiating sponsorship contracts, allocating funds across teams, and ensuring transparent reporting. We understand that ambition must be backed by disciplined financial execution.
Our approach as Treasurer will focus on five priorities:
1. Transparent and Accountable Budgeting
Clear allocation plans, structured tracking, and full transparency with members.
2. Proactive Sponsorship Strategy
Actively securing partnerships with AI labs, startups, quant firms, and technology companies through professional sponsorship outreach.
3. Strategic Allocation of Funds
Prioritising high-impact initiatives such as flagship hackathons, research competitions, conference subsidies, and premium workshops.
4. Financial Support for Member Initiatives
Creating a clear, fair process to fund new ideas and student-led projects.
5. Long-Term Sustainability
Building documented sponsorship pipelines and budgeting frameworks for future committees.
For us, Treasurer is not just about approving expenses. It’s about building credibility and enabling opportunity.
Ambition requires structure. We’re ready to provide both.
