Artificial Intelligence (AI): Co-Chair
We’re Vivaan (3rd Year MEng Computing in AI & ML) and Aryan (2nd Year MEng Computing in AI & ML), and we’re running together to lead AISoc.
AI is evolving at an unprecedented pace, from frontier foundation models to real-world deployment in startups and research labs. We believe AISoc should sit at that intersection: combining technical depth, exposure to cutting-edge research, and meaningful industry engagement.
Both of us have previously led Google Developer Group (GDG) chapters, where we built active tech communities and organised large-scale hackathons and flagship events with sponsorship funding exceeding £80,000+. We’ve managed significant budgets, worked directly with companies, and delivered events at scale. We were also nominated as Campus Leads for Lovable, recognising our ability to grow and represent strong technical communities. These experiences give us the ambition and execution ability to take AISoc further.
As Chairs, our focus will be:
1. Structured workshops on state-of-the-art AI (transformers, diffusion models, RLHF, multimodal systems).
2. Applied AI sessions focused on building and deploying real systems.
3. Industry talks from leading AI labs and startups.
4. Company-backed hackathons and flagship events.
5. Research paper reading groups.
6. Startup-style office hours for student founders.
AISoc should be more than a society that hosts talks; it should be a launchpad. Whether your goal is research, startups, or top AI labs, we want AISoc to give you the structure, network, and technical edge to succeed.
We’ve built communities before. Now we want to build the strongest AI community at Imperial.
