Or Merzer
Hi, I'm Or, a 1st year undergraduate reading Medical Biosciences.
I have been interested in immunology ever since sixth form, when I first discovered the intricate details of the humourous and adaptive systems. Since then, I've read books and attended talks and lectures about the topic, some of which this society hosted, which only made me want to dive deeper into the fascinating and endless world of immunology.
One of the things that brings me joy is sharing my own joy, a task which is facilitated by being an academic officer. This would allow me to enable fellow students to experience this fascinating world, in a hopefully manageable sense. To be honest, when I first saw how many cells are involved in this system, I was both excited by the depth of the topic and scared by how much I'd have to learn. Easing this fear is my main aim.
I'll keep this short: this position will help me in spreading my enthusiasm for immunology beyond my close friends. Without it, I shall still spread my excitement and curiosity, although to a lesser degree. So vote for me, so that the entire BMB year 1 cohort chooses immunology for year 2 (for legal purposes, I must disclaim that I cannot feasibly acheive this task, and that it was hyperbolic for emphasis).
Also, T-reg cells best cells.
