Neurodiversity: Education Officer

I'm Amy, a 4th year student and co-founder of this society, and I've served as the Education Officer for the past two and a half years. As the last remaining co-founder still at Imperial, I'm standing to ensure the continuity, stability, and long-term future of the society we built.

Together, we have created a community that offers support, community, and advocacy for neurodivergent students here at Imperial.

This year, I have supported the committee in delivering events, contributed to Disability History Month programming, led the “Things I Wish You Knew About Dyslexia” campaign for Dyslexia Awareness Week, and worked with faculty and DAS on neurodiversity advocacy initiatives, including the Student Voice forum.

As Union Disabilities Officer, I have also promoted neuroinclusion through my work on training for hall wardens and communication with library services.
Through these initiatives, we have amplified neurodivergent voices, challenged misconceptions, and encouraged open conversations across our campus.
If re-elected, I will continue working to expand our educational efforts by providing information on diagnosis, support, and strategies to thrive. In a society where your neurotype is not the norm, targeted advice is incredibly valuable, and I would like to improve access to this. As well as educating members, I would like to focus on educating Imperial's neurotypical population, as misconceptions are unfortunately still widespread.

Thank you for reading, and I hope you'll vote for me ☺️
