Jenee Jayakumar

Hello everyone! I'm Jenee, a first year materials student, and I have only recently just joined Ceilidh. I was told by my Materials mum, Alice, about how entertaining the sessions were and after a term of persuasion, I relented and went to the Burns night Ceilidh where I had the most fun dancing in a long time. Even as a complete klutz, I was able to enjoy the various dances that were taught extremely well, my favourite being Strip the Willow. What I enjoyed was the way I felt included by everyone even though it was my first time there, and so this encouraged me to join the society! I wanted to apply as treasurer to further involve myself in the society and get to know about Ceilidh more, helping out and involve more people in a society that welcomed me with open arms. In terms of experience in leadership, I have been the secretary in Wilson House this academic year, and as treasurer, I will commit to the role and attend many more Ceilidhs to come!
