If elected Alumni Officer, I promise to keep Imperial relationships stronger than my Saturday forehand (which, I’m pleased to report, is trending infintely upwards).
Every Saturday, you’ll find me on the tennis courts at Imperial; partly for cardio, mostly for community. There’s something uniquely bonding about a long rally, a dramatic missed volley, confidently calling a ball “out” when it absolutely wasn’t, or thinking to myself 'if I miss this second-serve my whole family dies' and then absolutely skying it. That spirit of shared struggle and triumph shouldn’t expire at graduation.
My mission is simple: connection that lasts longer than exam-season group chats.
First, I want to build a proper tennis alumni database, not a mysterious spreadsheet that reappears once a year like a coursework deadline, but a living, breathing network. Whether you’re launching a startup, doing a PhD, or pretending to understand tax, our alumni should feel accessible, visible, and genuinely connected.
Second, I’ll host networking events; mentoring evenings, career panels, and of course, tennis watch-alongs (Wimbledon will be treated as a national holiday). Perhaps even alumni vs student exhibition matches.
Thank you for reading my manifesto and hope to you as next year’s committee.
